About me
I am a qualified counsellor working from The Regency Practice rooms which are a calm and relaxing space in Central Cheltenham.
I studied the CPCAB L4 diploma in therapeutic counselling, completing my studies in 2018 and I have also worked for a local counselling charity for 5 years. This has enabled me to work with all kinds of issues and many different people from diverse backgrounds.
I have experience of working with many different issues including loss and bereavement, trauma and issues relating to the lived experience of neurodivergence.
I have been trained in an integrative approach (person-centred and pyschodynamic) which means that I am able to draw on different models and provide a therapeutic approach that is unique to you and what you want to explore.
Clients have described me as warm and open and someone whom they felt that they could really open up to. Colleagues have said that I am 'down to earth'.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to their ethics and guidelines.
I am currently adding to my skills by training for the CPCAB L5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This means I can also offer CBT sessions at a discounted rate whilst I am in training. CBT works by looking at your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours and the interplay between them. It involves techniques which are learned and practiced and is a more structured approach. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, panic attacks and much more. If that is an approach which you would be interested in, then we can talk about this at assessment and see if it could be helpful.
